Jaguar Land Rover vows to flip its synonymity with poor reliability

Thierry Bolloré, the new CEO of British multinational luxury automotive firm, Jaguar Land Rover, has reportedly pledged to flip the company’s image completely around and solve the poor quality and reliability issues that have been plaguing the band for years.

As per reports, Bolloré, who took over the mantle of JRL’s CEO last autumn, stated that a significant amount of advancements have already been made towards what he calls the ‘first priority’ of the ‘Reimagine’ strategy to turn around the company’s fortunes.

Bolloré added that this would be first pillar upon which the Reimagine transformation plan stands. The company’s results have been clearly unacceptable, but it now knows how to mend them. The new CEO claimed that the way to get rid of this poor image is through pure hard work. In fact, 2021 outcomes are better already, but the enterprise has significantly more to do.

For the uninitiated, one of the first actions signed off by Bolloré, within a month of coming onboard Jaguar Land Rover, was to bring Nigel Blenkinsop into the company’s board as the executive director of company quality as well as customer satisfaction.

Blenkinsop was assigned to report directly to Bolloré, who claimed that the company now has a board member that is responsible for managing the entire value chain, which would make a large amount of difference.

The progress that has been made, includes a warranty cost drop by approximately one-third from the model-year 2021 cars. The new company boss is also changing the way it develops its vehicle models, integrating more technology as well as digital design in common systems to improve component quality and how they fit into start of the process.

For the record, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicle models have been long plagued with quality and reliability problems, making the brand synonymous with poor quality worldwide. In the 2020 issue of the ‘What Car? Reliability Survey’, the Land Rover model finished dead last out of more than 31 other car makers. The car attained a score of approximately 78.2%, which was almost 10% lower than that of the brand that was ranked directly above JRL
