INVISTA licenses its latest P8 PTA technology to Jiatong Energy

Tongkun Group’s Jiatong Energy and INVISTA Performance Technologies have reportedly signed an agreement for the deployment of INVISTA’s most recent P8 PTA technology for the development of two PTA lines in the Rudong area of Nantong City in the Jiangsu province of China.

As per sources, both lines will use INVISTA’s latest P8++ PTA technology in association with the largest twin stream design furnished by the company. These lines are being built in alignment with exceptional performance exhibited by the P8 technology platform. The deployment is likely to station new benchmarks within the industry owing to the environmental performance, variable cost, and capital productivity of the latest PTA technology.

According to Adam Sackett, the Vice President of PTA at INVISTA, the company feels honored that Tongkun Group has selected its industry leading P8++ PTA technology for the second time. He has further expressed that INVISTA group has a long history of PTA innovation and eagerly looks ahead to work in collaboration on this new chapter of technology and cooperation between the two organizations.

INVISTA and Tongkun have been working together for a period of 10 years in the field of PTA technology. INVISTA Technologies’ first P8 and first P7 technology platforms were successfully commissioned, installed, and operated at Jiaxing Petrochemical, a subsidiary of the Tongkun Group. The current agreement is the result of the successful co-operation between the two companies on these projects, cite sources.

For the uninitiated, INVISTA has been operating under Koch Industries since the year 2004. The company specializes in the supply of proprietary ingredients for nylon 6,6 and recognized brands comprising ANTRON, STAINMASTER, and CORDURA. The company also provides specialty process technologies and chemical intermediates and is dedicated to the development of the most versatile and durable fibers and polymers at the global level.

Further, INVISTA’s latest P8 PTA technology can be obtained as a license package from IPT. INVISTA and Jiatong have jointly decided on a project start-up date of the fourth quarter of 2022 for the first line, state sources.
