Hyundai Motors, Kia, Genesis to introduce new EVs at Busan motor show

South Korean automobile manufacturing company, Hyundai Motor Group’s trademarks, Hyundai Motors, Genesis, and Kia, have reportedly announced plans to introduce their latest models, including a fleet of EVs, like the EV9 concept SUV by Kia and Ioniq 6 by Hyundai at the Busan International Show.

The show, which will take place in the port city of Busan in the country's southeast from July 15 to 24, will provide a platform for the automobile firm to introduce new and existing models to the customers.

The bi-annual event, which started back in 2001, is one of the nation's representative motor shows, along with the Seoul Mobility Show. In 2020, the event  could not take place because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hyundai Motor, one of the brands of the automobile group, announced that it would present 14 car models. Specifically, it will display a real model of its recently unveiled EV, the Ioniq 6, at the motor show.

The Ioniq 6's interior and exterior were revealed in photographs and videos by Hyundai Motor on June 29, elevating consumer expectations regarding the vehicle's design, which is resembles a sporty sedan. The new car is lined up for release in Korea later this year.

Additionally, Hyundai Motor will showcase its environmentally friendly vehicles including the Xcient hydrogen fuel cell truck as well as Universe hydrogen bus, along with its Seven concept EV, which was unveiled at the LA Auto Show for the first time in November 2021.

Kia will display its EV9 concept car, which was earlier launched at the LA Auto Show in 2021. Given the lack of full-size EVs in the market at the time, the concept SUV was successful in drawing a large number of spectators with its spacious cabin and cutting-edge exterior styling during the event.

At the ceremony, the automaker also announced that it will debut a face-lifted compact SUV, Kia Seltos. With its striking design and several high-tech features, the Seltos has been setting the standard for the nation's compact SUV market.

At the auto show, the luxury automobile brand Genesis of Hyundai Motor Group will present its entire lineup in addition to the concept model Genesis X Speedium Coupe, which was launched in New York in April.
