Dassault Systèmes collaborates with China’s CSADI over virus dispersal

French software company, Dassault Systèmes SE has reportedly joint forces with China’s CSADI (Central-South Architectural Design Institute) to support the simulation and prevention of virus dispersal in the confined environment of Wuhan’s Leishenshan Hospital.

For the record, Leishenshan Hospital, slated as one of the largest hospital for infectious diseases and COVID-19 patients, had recently made headlines for being constructed in just 14-day. As for the recent move, CSADI and Dassault Systèmes will be using the simulation capabilities of 3DEXPERIENCE platform to simulate virus contamination and dispersion within Leishenshan Hospital’s ventilation system and to counteract the unplanned ventilation’s negative effects.

Apparently, preventing contamination of nearby environments is one of the key objectives of CSADI, especially minimization of cross-infection in the hospital environment as well as across external communities and surroundings. Reportedly, until now, Dassault Systèmes has offered SIMULIA XFlow software to CSADI to simulate outdoor and indoor fluids, virus dispersal in ventilation systems and other projects within the Leishenshan Hospital.

Zhang Shen, Director of Engineering Digital Technology Center, CSADI, claims that the technology offered by Dassault Systèmes focuses on life and the future. CSADI will use advanced SIMULIA XFlow software of Dassault Systèmes to drive indoor air distribution schema and improve suggestions on enhanced contamination discharge in negative pressure wards to safeguard medical professionals.

SIMULIA XFlow will also encourage outdoor exhaust emission impacts on nearby environments to help the design and site selection of the modular hospital.

Meanwhile, Ying Zhang, Managing Director, Greater China, Dassault Systèmes, claims that their firm is committed to supporting enterprises in China to combat COVID-19 with the aid of technology, focusing on restoration and development of enterprises after the pandemic.

Dassault Systèmes have extended its focus from things to life, encouraging it to make positive contributions to the environment during the pandemic and in future hospitals with CSADI. Applied systematically to design, engineering and manufacturing, 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides seamless remote collaboration and enables all users to understand, experience and communicate.

In the midst of current crisis, Dassault Systèmes’ 3D cloud-based collaborative platform approach replaces an aged, slower document-based approach, cites Zhang.
