State health officials of New York are reportedly conducting an investigation on a New York City based health care provider for an alleged violation of protocol pertaining with the rollout of the coronavirus vaccine in the state.
Speaking of the matter, Howard Zucker, New York Health Commissioner has stated that ParCare Community Health Network in Brooklyn has most likely obtained COVID-19 vaccine fraudulently, transferred it to facilities across various parts of the state violating the state guidelines and diverted it to members of the public going against the state's plan of administering the vaccinations first to frontline healthcare workers, staffers, and nursing home residents.
Zucker further stated that they take this situation very seriously and the New York Department of Health will be helping the State Police through the criminal investigation into this matter.
Meanwhile. the company has stated that it has extended its cooperation into the criminal investigation and aims to offer critical healthcare services and administer COVID-19 inoculations to those qualified to receive them as per the guidelines formulated by the New York State Department of Health which covers frontline healthcare workers as well as first responders.
For the record, the vaccine rollout program of New York state decrees that highly vulnerable individuals such as doctors, nurses, and first responders will be given highest priority when it comes to delivering the vaccine.
Recently, a report was published in The New York Times recently which provided details on how New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital had given access to the vaccine for some of the hospital employees who apparently were not at a high risk of contracting the virus.
Staffers from other hospitals have stated that they have raised concern internally but couldn’t speak fearing the professional retaliation.
