India-based conversational AI firm, Gnani.ai has recently unveiled a novel integrated speech recognition-based technology for the Indian defense. Reportedly, the novel end-to-end voice encryption solution adopts Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), speech-to-text, and Machine Translation to convert Mandarin to English.
Notably, this AI-powered technology has been developed with an aim to assist armed forces, local law enforcement authorities, and intelligence agencies to enhance the communication channel and provide substantial leeway to the Indian defense units.
For the record, this innovative system holds a wide application scope, which includes voice surveillance, cross border intelligence, intercepting radio/satellite communications, monitoring internet/telephone conversations, and to bridge interactions during joint exercises and border meetings.
Additionally, some of the favorable features of the solution include understanding accent, noise reduction, and supporting different types of file formats.
In a statement by, Ananth Nagaraj, Co-Founder and CTO, Gnani.ai, said that AI-led speech recognition technology has become the need of the hour as it has become an integral part of the modern warfare. The innovative speech solution will help understand the linguistic nuances like dialects and phonemes, further assisting in gathering real-time intelligence and data, he added.
Speaking along similar lines, Gnani.ai has developed vernacular NLP solutions in the past for the Indian Defense establishments. This was done to strengthen communication systems across other national borders with countries like Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
According to news reports, in July 2019, Gnani.ai raised Series A funds from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, the investment arm of Samsung. During this investment round, the leading South-Korean tech giant, making its debut in the country, injected nearly USD 8.5 million across four Indian start-ups, one of them being Bengaluru-based AI start-up, Gnani.ai.
