Dacia, a renowned Romanian car manufacturer, has reportedly announced that it will unveil its new seven-seater family car, Jogger, at the Munich motor show. The new people carrier would be the successor to the company’s Lodgy MPV vehicle.
According to credible sources, the new model from Dacia, a budget brand of Groupe Renault, will be unveiled on September 3rd, 2021, ahead of its debut at the Munich Motor Show the following week.
Dacia claims the Jogger moniker was picked because it is a simple, contemporary moniker that conveys dynamism, good energy, and the outdoor attitude. It also matches the 'er' suffix used in the ‘Duster’ SUV and the newly revealed ‘Bigster’ big SUV concept, hinting at its placement.
The Lodgy MPV was introduced back in 2012, however it was never marketed in the United Kingdom. It is unknown whether Jogger, which is an important component of Dacia's continuing range growth, will be available in this market.
The Jogger, which is available in both five or seven-seat options, combines Volvo-style taillights with Dacia's Y-shaped graphics and an elevated rear end to enhance luggage capacity. The headlights mainly appear to be carried over from the recent Logan/Sandero twins and should include standard LEDs for the short beam and daytime running lights.
The inside cabin has not yet been disclosed in previews, but with Dacia focusing on cost-cutting in order to keep prices as low as possible, customers can expect the dashboard to be practically carried over from the Sandero Stepway. Its three-row layout or two-row arrangement with a large luggage space behind the rearmost seats will make it far more practical.
While Dacia provides excellent value for money, many customers are disappointed by the absence of a more powerful engines in Logan and Sandero. It is unclear if the Jogger will feature a four-cylinder engine, in contrast with the sedan and hatchback, which are only available with normally aspirated and turbocharged three-cylinder engines.
It makes it logical to install a larger engine because the new wagon will be larger and heavier, especially with seven people or the freight space filled completely.
